After JIO becoming most popular 4G network in India, Bharti Airtel looking to follow the trend of 4G. Due to high demand in 4G network, day by day 3G users are switching to 4G. So Airtel decided to shutting down its 3G networks in various circles in India from 26th May 2019.
Why is Airtel 3G shutting down?
Due to the lack of users & low revenue, Airtel is not getting profit from 3G services. So after the Spectrum licenses expire Airtel is not going to renew it. As a result, there will be “No Service” in 3G network.
Another thing is that Airtel is looking to be next 4G only network in India after the Reliance Jio.
Where is Airtel 3G shutting down?
In the first phase, Airtel 3G is going to close on Kolkata, Mumbai & Punjab Circles. In the near future, more circles will be facing “no Airtel 3G network”.
When is Airtel 3G Shutting Down?
From 26th May 2019 Airtel is going to close 3G services in above mentioned circles.
What Users have to Do?
If you do not have 4G mobile, you have to Buy a new 4G mobile. Because after the 3G services shut down you will not get 3G network & you can not use the Internet.
If you already use 4G handset, then set your network to 4G Auto Mode to use Airtel 4G. Airtel is also providing VoLTE services so that user can enjoy Internet when they are in call & do VIdeo Calling to other Airtel 4G users.
What problems users can face?
As Airtel 4G is expanding network, so in some areas, Airtel 4G is not having sufficient towers. On that places Airtel network will switch to 2G. So there you can only call and sms. High speed Internet & video Streaming will not be available.
Day by day Internet users are increasing in India. But comparing to usage towers is not increasing. As a result users are facing slow Internet in peak time. I have personally saw BSNL 3G is giving very much better speeds as compare to JIO & Airtel because they have very low customers.
So after 26th May 2019, users have to use 4G network or 2G network of Airtel. There will be no 3G.
