Guided Access is a feature of iOS that allows iPhone or iPad to be locked on a single app. Hence the name “Guided Access” is a proprietary name & Android can’t use the same name. This lockdown feature prevents from opening other apps until giving the lack pin or password.

In Android, almost similar feature introduced since Android 5 with the name of screen pinning. In the screen pin feature, you can only access a single app until the password is given to unlock the device. This feature is very handy when we are giving a mobile to someone for some intended purpose. For example, giving the Android mobile to kids for playing a game. This screen pin feature restricts the time the kid from opening other apps like instant messaging or gallery.
How to Enable Guided Access on Android
Depending on your mobile manufacturer and Android version, the screen pinning feature will be under a different setting menu. In this tutorial we will say on the basis of stock Android version 13.
First of all, go to the settings of the device & go to security options.
Then click on More security settings.
Then go to App Pinning.
Then on the page enable App Pinning & Ask for PIN before unpinning toggle.
Now you have finally enabled Guided Access on Android.
How to Pin App on Android
To Pin any Android app for Guided access, open any app, then minimize and go to opened app window by swiping up gesture.
Then hold on to the app window which you want to pin.
It will open a small pop-up window, where the “Pin” option will be shown. Click that & you are done.
To unpin & go out of Guided access on Android, you have to swipe up & hold. Then it will go to the lock screen. Then give the password & phone will land on the home screen.
How to use Guided Access on Redmi
On Redmi devices you can use Guided access or screen pinning feature. But the settings process will be different as a custom MIUI is there. Just open the setting app & search app pinning. Then enable it & you are done.
